Bird Notes - Spring is the best time to watch birds as the males are in their brightest colors, hoping to attract a female.  Watch for "courtship" behavior where one bird mimics the other to build a bond, including neck stretching and bill clapping. Some males will feed the female as a promise to bring food to the nest.  Male mourning doves and others chase females to mate. Many male birds sing only in the spring. It's a great time to be outdoors!
